Abstract

The imperforate hymen is the most frequent malformation of the female genital apparatus, in the formation processes of the genital apparatus it is related to hormonal, epigenetic and maternal and paternal genome factors. The bicornuate uterus, the uterine septum are produced by malformations of the Müllerian duct in its fusion, in the 8th week of gestation. Hymenectomy is the recommended surgical procedure for imperforate hymens, and bicornuate and septate uteruses do not have a specific treatment.
