Abstract
Introduction: In the midst of so much chaos, the search for ways to stop the growth and spread of COVID-19, must take into account the various realities, socioeconomic levels and opinions present in the different population groups, with the aim of finding measures that adapt and reach the different levels of the population.
Objective: To know the perception of the users of the regional hospital of Caacupé about the Covid-19 pandemic.
Methodology: An Observational, Descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional cohort study was conducted through a closed questionnaire. If they included 300 users of the Regional Hospital of Caacupé, of which 100% (300 patients) were aware of the pandemic, of which 98% (294) knew the sanitary measures of protection against Covid-19.
Results: It was observed that 47% (202) had the press as their source of information. The use of care measures varied, since 100% (300) will report wearing a mask, 99% (299). In addition, 74% (222) of the participants do not consider the government’s action adequate in the face of the pandemic, causing 81% (244) to have more confidence in the doctors in their area than in the Executive and 55% (164) affirm the belief in the worsening of the pandemic in the future. The majority of the population that responded to the questionnaire presented the following characteristics, the age was from 25 to 31 years, female, from urban areas, with a university educational level.
Conclusion: The population reports knowing the situation of the pandemic and have as their main source of information the press and social networks. The vast majority are aware of the sanitary measures, and do not consider appropriate the measures adopted by the government to face the pandemic, having expectations of worsening for the future in relation to the pandemic.
