NURSING CARE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OF AGE WITH DIARRHEAL SYNDROME IN A FAMILY HEALTH UNIT

Abstract

Diarrhea is the third reason
for consultation after fever and cough in
primary care, representing a serious public

health problem, it is estimated that about two
million cases of diarrhea occur each year;
and 3.2 million deaths each year in children
under the age of 5, children under this age
are considered to have a 15-fold increased
risk of dying from these problems. Objective:
-Determine the care provided by the nursing
staff to children under 5 years of age with
diarrhea at USF Villa Florida.
